(June 28, 2016) The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) is happy to announce the appointments of Doug Bacon from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality as the new State Engagement Coordinator, and Richard Spiese, with Vermont's Department of Environmental Conservation, as the new State At-Large Representative.

Mr. Bacon started his three-year term in April, 2016. As the State Engagement Coordinator, Doug's primary goal is to represent the State POCs to the Board regarding environmental priorities as well as communicating team opportunities, product reviews, and State requests. Doug will focus on facilitating an open dialogue with the Board to ensure that the POC's outreach and networking is successful and supportive of ITRC.

Mr. Spiese began his three-year term in June, 2016. In his new position, Richard will focus on partnerships between the ITRC and other State organizations. Initially, Richard will explore pilot project opportunities between ITRC and the Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO). With years of experience as an ASTSWMO leader, Richard is well-positioned to achieve this goal.

ITRC welcomes Doug and Richard to the ITRC Board of Advisors, and looks forward to working with them.
