ASCT Team Makes Significant Headway at their Fall Meeting

(October 25, 2018) On October 22-23, the Advanced Site Characterization Tools (ASCT) Team met in San Antonio, TX to work on their guidance document and training resources. On the first day, the team reviewed general comments on the first draft of the technical regulatory guidance document and developed the framework for a tool that will help regulators learn more about site characterization options.

On both days, subgroups for chapter two, direct sensing, remote sensing, downhole geophysics, and surface geophysics split up to work on their section of the guidance document. During one of their breaks, the team held a friendly but competitive science trivia contest, after which they continued working on their document sections, case studies, training resources, and outreach efforts.

Overall, the team had a very successful meeting. ITRC would like to thank all 30 members who dedicated their time and expertise in San Antonio!
