New 2024 Project Teams

Climate Workgroup

January 2024 - December 2024

In recent years we have received several project proposals identifying the need for an ITRC project on a wide range of challenges related to climate resilience and adaptation. In 2022-2023, several States through ERIS’s Biennial Survey identified specific issues of concern, and in 2022, ECOS launched a new Climate & Energy Workgroup to identify best practices and strategies for climate resilience.

The formation of the Climate Workgroup is a new mechanism for ITRC. The Workgroup will be tasked with assembling interested ITRC community members and experts to review current climate resilience and adaptation resources and knowledge to identify gaps and opportunities for ITRC. The Workgroup will convene for no more than one year to develop recommendations and proposals for ITRC’s BOA to consider for future projects.

The current ITRC CEC Team will expand the scope of its CEC Identification Framework (to be released in December 2023) and associated training to include CECs such as biological toxins and waterborne pathogens that are derived from microorganisms, plants, and animals.
