Project Duration: December 2023 – December 2025
What are PFAS
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) constitute a large family of fluorinated chemicals, exceeding several thousand that might be in commercial use or the environment, that vary widely in their chemical and physical properties. Read more in the Team Info Sheet.
Why are we doing this?
ITRC’s PFAS guidance and training materials have become essential resources for the U.S. and international environmental communities since the Team was formed in 2017.
The PFAS Team will focus its efforts during the two-year project period on:
- Creating Emerging Issues materials for newer, focused topics of concern to the ITRC community.
- Developing new guidance on applying sorption-based technologies for separation and
concentration of PFAS. - Maintaining the accuracy of current ITRC PFAS guidance in response to new information and making improvements to their accessibility.
